Whether he was fronting a rock band, curating local gallery exhibitions, or co-hosting his popular pop-culture podcast, Tommy used his immense talents to build community, lift up fellow creators, and support charitable causes.

Tommy was a true artist-for-hire who lived and breathed the creative spirit of New York City. He began writing and performing music as a teenager, anchoring the local scene from his early “Dewey days” onward.

Throughout his career, Tommy served as the frontman and primary songwriter for several rock outfits before transitioning into a powerful solo-acoustic act. Backed occasionally by a rotating cast of his highly talented musician friends, Tommy’s songwriting was famously eclectic and melodic. His music ran the gamut from rock ‘n’ roll and folk to country-esque ballads, pop-rock, and soul. In September 2011, he released his definitive, 11-track original CD, Jokes & Mistakes, a record deeply rooted in the raw, authentic rock ‘n’ roll energy of the city he called home.

He was the co-host of the @jacked_kirby podcast and served as a crucial gatekeeper for independent local artists. Through curated gallery events like his renowned Winter Blues art show, Tommy actively sought out overlooked talent, providing a supportive platform for emerging painters and tattoo artists to overcome their nerves and display their work publicly.
