Standout Student-Athlete at St. Rose High School
Christian graduated from St. Rose High School in Belmar, where he distinguished himself as one of the school’s most accomplished multi-sport athletes.
He served as captain of the varsity soccer team and earned recognition as the team’s Most Valuable Player and Best Defender. Beyond soccer, he also competed on the school’s surf, swimming, and track and field teams, reflecting both his athletic versatility and his passion for coastal life.
Coaches and teammates remember him not only for his competitive drive but also for the leadership and encouragement he offered those around him.
Answering the Call to Serve
Following high school, Christian continued his education at the United States Coast Guard Academy in New London, Connecticut, where he pursued a degree in Management.
While balancing the demanding academic and military curriculum, he also represented the Academy as a defender on the Coast Guard Bears men’s soccer team.
After completing his training, he entered active-duty service with the United States Coast Guard, dedicating himself to protecting America’s waterways and supporting missions involving maritime safety, search and rescue, and environmental stewardship.
Family Tradition of Military Service
Christian came from a family with a long tradition of military service.
He is survived by his parents, Carl and Elaine Riozzi-Bodine, his older brother, Ethan, and his younger sister, Alayna. His father previously served in the United States Air Force, while another close family member served in the United States Army, continuing a legacy of commitment to the nation.
